The company

Established in 1972, The S.M. Group International Inc. is a consulting firm active in the engineering, quality management, environment and information technology fields. The firm is a multidisciplinary network of specialized firms uniquely equipped to manage the multifaceted realities of the projects, clients and communities which they serve. Three important specialized firms of The S.M. Group International Inc. work in the environmental sector : Aménatech Inc., Laboratoire d’environnement S.M. Inc. and S.M. Environment. The group is accredited ISO 9001.

Aménatech Inc. is an advisor in the fields of land and environmental management and an integrator using geomatic tools and models for developing information systems. We can count on a team of specialists in agronomy, geography, economics, biology, town planning, geology, engineering, computer programming, geomatics and modeling who can provide advise in regional and urban planning, flood studies and dam safety management, environmental impact assessment, environmental audit, soils conservation, modeling, environmental management system and training. This team can develop original solutions to information management problems in the land use planning and environmental fields.

Laboratoire d’environnement S.M. Inc. offers a complete range of microbiological and chemical analyses for any type of matrix in the environmental field. Our laboratories include a team of thirty chemists, microbiologists and technicians. We have access to the state-of-the-art technology for characterizing and treating wastewater and for carrying out chemical and microbiological analyses. We are accredited ISO Guide 25 by Quebec Ministry of Environment in our fields of expertise as well as ISO 9001.

S.M. Environment was founded to respond to the increasing demand for remediation solutions in drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, groundwater and contaminated soil rehabilitation, and valorization of industrial, farming and domestic waste. Our team of engineering, hydrogeological and chemical specialists follow the most recent developments in biotechnologies used in environmental remediation. In addition, the team leads technology demonstration projects in contaminated soils remediation, mines tailings remediation and pig slurry treatment system.
