History

Since 1983, MABAREX has been providing custom solutions at competitive prices, offering modern, high-performance processes, top-quality equipment, and trouble-free implementation. As well as offering its own processes, MABAREX collaborates with firms of international repute to come up with optimal solutions.

MABAREX has completed numerous projects involving wastewater and the treatment of sludges, municipal and industrial sewage, industrial process water and ground water.

MABAREX carries out turnkey projects and works closely with consulting engineers and contractors involved on the local and/or international scene.

MABAREX invests in research and development in order to stay on the cutting edge of new technologies and to keep providing clients with economical, innovative solutions. We have developed a number of products including circular settling tanks, self-cleaning screens, grit removal screens and a sludge granulation and drying system.

MABAREX participated in the development of the world s largest Sequential Biological Reactor facilities.

Expertise

Drinking water

MABAREX treats both surface and ground water. Conventional or innovative processes are used, adapted to satisfy client s requirements and needs.

The OXY.REX system eliminates iron, manganese, sulphur and several other contaminants. Simple to use, this process also resolves problems of colour and turbidity.

The single stage coagulation-filtration process with continuous washing on a filter is appropriate for surface water treatment. Added benefits of this system are non-stop operation, no need of a washing pump or automatic valve, and low input of coagulants.

Industrial wastewater

In the industrial sector, MABAREX supplies systems for internal recycling, treatment of process water and wastewater.  Sequential Biological Reactors effect biological treatment under ideal conditions, without regard to flow or load fluctuations. SBRs also biologically remove phosphorus and nitrates.

Industrie alimentaire

We have the capability to treat slaughter-house effluents by a flotation system or by biological treatment. We can also provide treatment for the sludges resulting from the treated effluents.

MABAREX also supplies process-water production equipment to the food-processing industry.

Sludge treatment

MABAREX provides various processes, including sludge digestion, thickening, dewatering, drying, and recycling.

For sludge dewatering, we offer a very full range of equipment including gravity belt thickeners, belt filters presses, centrifuges, and filter presses.
The DRY.REX ambient-temperature dryer marketed by SOLUTIONS MABAREX Inc. is a system which dries sludges, bark, wood chips, and other residues at ambient air temperatures.

Achievements

In one single year, our clients chose MABAREX to treat BOD5 corresponding to more than 3,000,000 inh.eq. In Montreal, water from the Formula 1 Grand Prix racetrack, the Casino, and the Biosphere is treated at the Expo 67 plant, renovated in 1994.

Aerated lagoons were built to treat sanitary and industrial effluent for the City of Chambly. The plant treats this effluent in settling basins of 40 m diameter.

Aeration, secondary settling basins, and sludge liming: Granby, Canada. At the Sidi Fredj seaside resort in Algeria, sludge is reused for agricultural purposes and the water is used for irrigation.

Equipment for a mega-project in St. Hubert, Canada, includes an 8 m wide catenary mechanical rake with throughput of 8 m3/s for rainwater treatment, as well as systems for grit removal, aeration, coagulation-filtration, and disinfection.
