Repentigny can be proud of its many achievements to reduce their GHG emissions: \u00a0it uses biodigesters for the \u00eele Lebel wastewater treatment plant, it is gradually replacing municipal vehicles\u2019 flashing lights with LED technology, and it now provides free public transportation for people aged 65 and older. Moreover, Repentigny will continue its fight against climate change with its new five years strategic plan in which ambitious targets have been set, including GHG emissions reduction.<\/p>\n<p>According to Normand Urbain, president of the Repentigny\u2019s Environment and Sustainable Development Committee, the municipality demonstrates its green commitment by implementing direct actions to reduce GHG emissions by 19.9%. He is very satisfied with what they have achieved so far, and particularly proud to obtain the Carbon Care<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0certification. He hopes it will encourage others to adopt greener practices, while raising awareness on the fight against climate change.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Carbon Care<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Certification<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Developed by Enviro-access, the Carbon Care<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Certification recognizes initiatives to reduce GHG emissions and achievements. The certification also attests the compliance of the GHG emissions\u2019 inventory according to ISO14064-1.<\/p>\n<p>For the past twenty years, Enviro-access has supported public and private organizations on their way to sustainability.
