The École Polytechnique de Montréal, affiliated to the Université de Montréal, is involved in numerous national and international research and development projects in the field of environment and sustainable development. The Polytechnique's expertise relies on seven research units, including four industrial chairs. These research units are:

NSERC Industrial Chaire in Site Remediation and Management
NSERC Industrial Chair in Drinking Water
NSERC Industrial Chair in Environmental Design Engineering
NSERC Industrial Chair Polytechnique-UQAT in Environment and mine wastes management
CIRAIG - Reference Center for the Life cycle Assessment, Interpretation and Management
Hydrogeology and Mining Environment Laboratory
Environmental Engineering Laboratory

Through these research units, École Polytechnique works actively at the research and the development of new remediation and treatment technologies, develops unique environmental management tools and performs research on the life cycle management of products and services.
In order to develop a strong relationship with industry vis-à-vis research and development, the École Polytechnique created the Bureau de la recherche et Centre de développement technologique (BRCDT), which maintains important and productive ties with small, medium and large businesses, as well as with the public sector.

SERVICES OFFERED

  • Promotion of scientific expertise and technology which has been developed at the École Polytechnique;
  • Carrying out research projects in partnership with businesses;
  • Financial planning for research projects;
  • Four types of contracts: research and development, student financing, professional consultation and scientific testing;
  • Conference organizing.
