Research areas


Fariborz Haghighat works on indoor environment and energy conservation in buildings. He is especially interested in indoor air quality and development of new techniques and methodologies to diagnostic air quality and ventilation problems. He also works on new materials development to improve energy efficiency.

1. Building materials emission rates measurement technique

Person(s) in charge : Haghighat, Fariborz
Description : The project concerns the development of a methodology to measure emission from paintings, varnishes, carpets, furnitures. Organic components of the concerned materials are released in the air when the material is used. Chemical transformation and time-related emission rates will be studied depending on environmental conditions like temperature and relative humidity, and also on parameters like its age.
