A verification report or statement is often required by regulation or programs put in place by government looking to reduce their level of GHG emission.
On the other hand, verifications are for any organization that produces a greenhouse gas emissions inventory and that wishes to state its emissions on a public registry or within a GHG program. Without necessarily being published on a registry or within a program, verifications can also enhance the credibility of an organization’s process in terms of its GHG emissions inventory. The verification of such inventories by an independent third party indicates that it has been prepared according to specific criteria and principles. Generally, internationally renowned and credible protocols and standards (ex.: ISO 14064-1, GHG Protocol) are used to define such criteria.
Our verification service is also for project sponsors who want to ensure recognition of reductions generated by a project under an agreement for the sale of the reductions or within a greenhouse gas program requiring independent third party verification.
