Validation enables an independent third party to evaluate a greenhouse gas project plan to ensure its quantification methodologies and monitoring protocols are relevant, adequate, and compliant with established criteria. Validation also enables you to determine whether or not it’s realistic to plan for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as proposed by the project sponsor.
Some greenhouse gas programs require that a project be validated to be eligible and registered. In such cases, validation also seeks to determine a GHG emissions reduction project’s eligibility for a program according to its criteria.
